Costa Rica Final Day: Friday 4-21
Friday- I can hardly believe this is our last full day in Costa Rica. :( We had quite a day. We left again at 8 am to walk from our hotel to the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. It is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, but has a lot to see in it. It was also packed with people, but apparently not as many as are normally there. We got some amazing shots of sloths, birds and monkeys. The trail is about a mile long, and you stop along the way with your guides as they point out different plants and animals in the forest. The forest is lush with life, and there are so many names to learn and remember. Some of the species that come to mind are the motmot bird, white-faced monkeys, squirrel monkeys, bats, agoiti rodents, racoons, brown boobie birds, jesus christ lizard, and too many I can't remember.
We had a great day at the beach, full of adventure for everyone. Some of the group decided to try parasailing. This was quite an experience! A few others splurged for surf lessons. All in all, we spent a few more hours either hovering above the sea, or playing in the surf.
We then had some to prepare for our final dinner. We went to a unique restaurant called, "El Avion" or the plan. It has an old plane right in the middle of it. We had an excellent dinner, and fought back the tears, realizing it was the last night in Costa Rica. What an amazing trip!
